Dropbox sync is now available in TaskTime Pro.
You can choose Dropbox or Google Drive when you want to keep your tasks, time entries, expenses, invoices, reports, and project notes up to date across devices. Your work still saves locally first, cloud sync stays optional, and TaskTime Pro still works without creating a TaskTime account.
Why add Dropbox sync?
People already have different places they trust for their files. Some use Google Drive every day. Others prefer Dropbox and do not want to connect another Google service just to keep their work available on a second device.
TaskTime Pro now gives both groups the same choice.
With Dropbox connected, you can:
- Sync TaskTime Pro across your computer, phone, or tablet
- Choose when syncing happens
- Create automatic backup snapshots in your Dropbox account
- Keep working offline and sync again when you reconnect
- Disconnect one browser without deleting your cloud files
Google Drive remains fully supported. You choose one active cloud provider for each TaskTime Pro browser profile.
Three ways to use cloud sync
Not everyone needs the same level of automation, so TaskTime Pro keeps the existing three sync options for both Dropbox and Google Drive.
Manual sync
Nothing is uploaded until you choose Sync Now. This is useful when you want cloud storage available but prefer to decide exactly when TaskTime Pro checks it.
Device backup
TaskTime Pro quietly uploads changes from the current device. It is a good fit when you mainly work on one device and want a cloud backup without automatic changes coming back from another device.
Sync between devices
Changes are kept up to date across devices that use the same provider. This is the recommended option when you regularly move between a laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet.
You can also enable separate automatic backup snapshots for another recovery option beyond the live sync files.
Your work still stays local-first
Adding Dropbox does not change the basic TaskTime Pro model.
Your current work saves in the browser first, so creating a task, stopping a timer, or preparing an invoice does not wait for a cloud request. The app remains usable offline, and cloud sync can be left disconnected entirely.
If you connect Dropbox, TaskTime Pro uses an App Folder inside your Dropbox account. It does not request access to the rest of your Dropbox files. Routine sync requests travel directly between your browser and Dropbox instead of sending your work through a TaskTime file server.
A small authentication service maintains the secure Dropbox connection and provides short-lived access when your browser needs it. It does not become a hosted copy of your projects, clients, invoices, expenses, notes, or time entries.

How to connect Dropbox
Open Account, choose Cloud Sync, and select Connect Dropbox.
Dropbox will ask you to approve access to the TaskTime Pro App Folder. After that, choose Manual sync, Device backup, or Sync between devices. TaskTime Pro will show the active provider and current sync state in the same place you already check Google Drive sync.
If you are already using Google Drive, your existing connection continues to work. TaskTime Pro does not switch providers automatically, and your Drive cloud files, backups, and sync behavior remain supported.
Cloud choice without a cloud requirement
The most important part of this update is not that TaskTime Pro now has another cloud provider. It is that the choice remains yours.
Use Dropbox. Use Google Drive. Keep everything local. Turn on automatic sync, keep it manual, or use one device with cloud backups. TaskTime Pro should fit the way you work without making a hosted account the owner of your freelance records.
Open TaskTime Pro and choose your preferred cloud sync option under Account.
